On August 1 we had a new moon in Leo and today, August 30 we have our second new moon of the month, this time in Virgo. The new moon of August 30, 2008 occurs at 7 degrees Virgo 48 minutes.

August 2008 Full Moon

This month’s full moon occurs at 24 degrees Aquarius on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 5:16 PM. If you’ll recall the last new moon was a solar eclipse in Leo. The theme of that new moon was following our heart’s desire (Leo and the Sun rule the heart). Right before that new moon I heard a quote that really stayed with me, and it was that exact message being communicated through the new moon eclipse in Leo: “I never knew what I wanted to do, but always knew who I wanted to become.” Putting the emphasis on recognizing our own unique needs, being recognized for who we are and not what we do, and chasing what we know in our hearts to be true for ourselves so beautifully encapsulated the message of the eclipse.
