Ethics
I am a professional astrologer and the most important attribute I can offer to my clients is the right to privacy and respect for your personal information. I am a member of three professional astrology organizations- NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research), the AFA (American Federation of Astrologers) and OPA (Organization for Professional Astrology). Each of these organizations has its own set of ethical guidelines that its members are expected to follow.
As a member of these groups and as a professional astrologer I declare that I do abide by these ethics. The ethical guidelines for astrologers put forth by these organizations are several pages long and in order to avoid reproducing it here I’ve copied the preamble from both sets and included links to the full text.
From the OPA Code of Ethics: Astrology is vastly diverse in its application, ranging from genethliacal procedures to projecting economic, political and societal trends, to forecasting potential geophysical shifts. Its practitioners are equally diverse, bringing into their astrological practice a variety of additional skills and educational backgrounds. Astrologers recognize the apparent synchronicity between life on planet earth with that of the cosmos. Astrologers recognize and utilize the richness of interpretation of planetary symbols and their intricate positioning to each other, and understand that education is required to meet acceptable standards of practice. They are committed to work that enriches and enhances life, and protects human dignity. They realize that their own proficiency increases through a personal ongoing study program, and an exchange of ideas with their colleagues. They recognize their individual role in the ongoing evolutionary process of astrology by being the very best practitioner they can be.
From the NCGR Code of Ethics: Astrologers are dedicated to the development and enhancement of the human condition through an understanding of celestial phenomena as applied to human concerns. Astrologers are committed to honesty, fairness and respect for others. Guided by the objective application of astrological technique as well as a commitment to the improvement of the human condition, astrologers seek to increase understanding and compassion world-wide. They remain acutely aware of the need to understand themselves in order to understand and help others. Astrologers are aware of the immense contribution astrology can make to human knowledge and wisdom, and accordingly encourage inquiry and an open exchange of ideas both outside and within their profession. And above all, astrologers respect the potential power they hold to affect the lives of others, and accordingly strive for the highest levels of competence and diligence.
If you have any questions about your privacy or personal information and would like to find out more before scheduling a consultation I will be more than happy to talk with you.
Sincerely, Ron
