That's a good thing for you to keep in mind over these next few weeks since the full moon on Tuesday, July 7, is in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is an earth sign, which means it's concerned about productivity, material goods, and how resources are managed. Because it's a cardinal sign it wants to take action on those things, adding to its drive and determination in reaching goals.Not only will this be a full moon, but it's also a lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth aligns between the Sun and Moon; all three bodies are on the same plane. This gives the full moon much more "ooomph" than usual. The full moon occurs at 15 degrees of Capricorn. If you have any planets in your natal chart at 15 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn) or at 0 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces) then you may feel this eclipse more than others. Last month, the new moon in Cancer asked us to reflect on what we are feeding in our lives. If we're giving attention (and intention) to the right things then we should be reaching our goals. The Capricorn full moon is like a spotlight, bringing to our awareness those things that require us to buck up and "take care of business." The Moon is making a fortunate aspect to Saturn in Virgo, which will help give us the discipline and structure necessary to make progress. Use this shift in energy to align with your goals. Capricorn is the patient mountain goat who takes it step-by-step until he reaches the pinnacle. What resources will you need to achieve them? Whether it be time, money, or plain old sweat, now is the time to roll up your sleves and get going. Takin' care of business may not be glamourous, but achievement is always commendable. Ask the Astrologer: "Can I find the right path in my life?"
Thanks for writing in Lisa. While I'm sorry to hear about your divorce you may need to accept that this is all a part of your soul's journey towards fulfillment. In astrology we know that our study of cycles will, at times, describe periods of smooth sailing and at other times warn of rough seas ahead. We may not be able to change the waves, but we can certainly adjust our course. Lisa has her south node in Cancer and her north node in Capricorn. What this describes is an individual who is very good at being the mothering type, running a household, and putting the needs of others first. In past lives (Cancer south node) she gave up being an independent go-getter in order to take care of the tribe or clan. Now, in this lifetime (Capricorn north node), her challenge is to get out into the world, develop self-respect, self-confidence, and learn to take care of herself. Lisa's soul desire is to feel safe- but she must create that safety and security herself and not depend on one person, or group of people, to provide that for her. This is further emphasized in Lisa's chart because the nodes are in the 2nd and 8th houses- self-worth, value, personal resources. |

I used to live in Memphis, TN, and whenever friends or family visited they always wanted to see Graceland. I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but I do like his music and respect him as an entertainer, so I'd usually go along. Hard-core fans are probably familiar with "TCB" and it wasn't until I saw those intials throughout his estate that I learned what it meant. Apparently his band was called "Takin' Care of Business," and Elvis had those initials made into rings and necklaces.
